Our homepage on the web is located at http://www.cheshirewalkers.org.uk/. Cheshire Walkers (CW) is run by Ramblers volunteers and funded and supported by Ramblers Central Office, http://www.ramblers.org.uk/.

We respect your privacy and will not sell your personal information to any third party. 

We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the security of your personal information. 

Any personal information you provide to us will be treated in accordance with this policy and current UK Data Protection legislation. 

The Ramblers is registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner for the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands. 

Personal information is any information that can be used to identify you. For example, it can include information such as your name, date of birth, email address, postal address, telephone number, fax number and credit/debit card details. 

 

Social Media

Cheshire Walkers does promote the group and share photos of our walks and events on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. However we understand not everyone wants their image to appear on these sites.

Walk leaders are mindful of this and at the beginning of each walk they should mention that photos may be taken that could then be used for this purpose and people are invited to step aside if a group photo is going to be taken. As a further precaution to avoid being accidentally included in a non-group shot which may then be posted online an individual may want to inform the group at the beginning of the walk that they do not want to be photographed.

 

Uses of personal information

CW will only use your personal information for: 

  • Communication about activities 
  • Administration purposes 

Our group emails are sent via a third-party mail manager (MailChimp) so please see their website for specific privacy information.

We will not pass on your personal information.

 

People aged under 18

If you are aged under 18, please ensure you obtain your parent/guardian's consent before providing any personal information.

If you think we have not followed our Privacy Policy in some way or if you have questions about this policy. You can contact us via the group contacts page.
